К этому тексту нужно задать 5 вопросов на английском! TEXT №7 ‘A FISH BONE’. One day , some Americans were having dinner at a hotel in London.

When the fish was put on the table, a young man said: "Let's examine the fish carefully. Perhaps we'll find a diamond in it". Everybody began to laugh, but an old man said quietly: "Yes, I'm sure we have all heard such stories. Let me tell you what happened to me once". "When I was a young man", he began, "I worked for a big company in New York: and I was sent to England to do some work there. I was in love with a beautiful girl, and before I left for England, we decided that we would be married when I returned home." I stayed in England for two months. I sent letters or postcards to the girl almost every day, but after the first two weeks I didn't receive any answers. But I didn't think anything was the matter, and before I left for home, I bought a beautiful diamond ring for her. On the ship one morning, a telegram was brought to me. It was from a friend in New York, who told me that the girl had changed her mind and was going to be married to another man. I was so angry that I threw the diamond ring into the sea. My friend came to the port to meet me, and he invited me to dinner. When we were sitting down at the table and I was eating fish, I suddenly felt something hard in my mouth. What do you think it was? "The diamond!" all the Americans cried. "No", the old man answered. "It was a fish bone".

nowadays there are a lot of social proplems and workaholism - is one of them. Who are they, workaholics? So many people think about this problem, and all of them have their own opinion.
From my point of view, it is much better way to be an workaholic in modern world. Of course, there are many positive and negative components, pluses and minuses. On the one hand, some people are interested in their job and on work they become much happier. There are a lot of well-known stories, when hard-working person becomes successful, rich and famous. On the other hand, there are many people who dislike their work, but they become workaholics becouse career forses. They depend on their job and spend every minute of the day working, do not have time for anyone else, for example for relatives and friends. it plays a harmful role for organism too: people become more agressive, pessimistic and stressed, relying on coffee and try to keep awake, not enough sleep, eat a poor diet. The risk of having a heart attack increases significantly, as does a chance to get other health problems such as cancer.
Finally, i can say that so many people, so many minds, but everithing, particulary workaholism, should be in moderation. People should pay attention not only for work, but on their privat-life too.

The Geographers' A-Z Street Atlas is one of the icons of London, as famous as red buses and ...fog. It is the book people reach for when they want to know

exactly where to find thousands of streets in London. You could find it on the bookshelves of the most London homes and in just every travel agency in the city. It lists every street in London and its carefully drawn maps show parks, gardens, railway lines, canals and just about anything else that can be put onto a piece of paper. So where did it come from? Phyllis Pearsall was a remarkable woman. She was born in Britain in 1906. She stayed there until she left school, and then travelled around France. She earned money by painting people's pictures and writing for a newspaper in Paris.
In the 1930s she returned to London, where she worked for her father's company, making maps of the world. She thought that there was a need for new street maps of London, after in 1935 she got lost while using a 20-year-old street map. So she started working on a book of maps. She walked along every street in the capital and wrote down the name, the important buildings and even the house numbers. Working eighteen-hour days she walked a total of 3,000 miles, while compiling her book. She kept the information about the streets on cards in small boxes.
One day a box with cards of all the streets beginning with "T" fell out of her window. She found most of the cards, but some cards landed on top of a bus and she never saw them again. When she sent the cards to the printer, someone asked her, "Why isn't Trafalgar Square in your book?" It was because she had lost the card. Phyllis Pearsall called her book A to Z. The first A to Z was in the shops in 1936 and sold very well. Now it is the most popular book of London street maps. It shows every street in London, important buildings, museums, theatres, schools, parks, train and underground stations. Later Phyllis Pearsall painted pictures of many of the city's famous buildings. In the same year, she formed the Geographers' Map Company which began publishing street maps and atlases of towns and cities and road maps of the whole country.
Today there are more than 130 people working for the Company. It publishes 359 titles including maps and atlases in both black and white and full colour. Computers were introduced into the drawing process in 1991. In 1996 the Company produced its first electronic street map of London on CD which contained over 90,000 streets, stations and different places of interest. 2005 saw the start of the next generation of A-Z maps, this time for mobile phones.
Phyllis Pearsall wrote about the history of the company in her book From Bedsitter to Household Name. She died in August 1996 at the age of 89.

Помогите сделать качественный перевод: One Friday lunchtime I had to change some money and went to an exchange office on the main pedestrianised

street in the city.
There was a queue of about half a dozen people also waiting to change their dollars. Now queuing is something that the English do when they have to but we tend to think how to avoid the queue - usually find another place or later time.
This time I was saved by a young man who suggested that if I wanted to change a few dollars we could do it quicker outside in the street.
I followed him outside and gave him the two $50 notes. While I was waiting for the money I was tapped on the shoulder by another young man who explained to me that it was a slightly dangerous practice to change money on the street.
I was embarrassed by this warning, and now wantend to get out of this situation as soon as possible. I turned to the chap and he returned the money immediately and went down the street. I stuffed the money in my pocket and went in the other direction to find another place to change my cash, But when I took the two notes out of my pocket i saw two one dollar notes! I might have saved ten minutes but I had lost nearly $100 instead and all because of my own stupid greed and impatience.
I was still wondering where to seek help when I saw the two chaps who had taken my dollars. I came up up to them and asked if they wanted me to explain the story to the militiaman who was a few metres away. They quickly handed me the two $50 notes - which this time I checked before pocketing them.
I was so glad to have my greed rewarded with some great luck that I gave them back theIr two one dollar notes - so they could catch someone else out? I don't know why!

The greatest cartoon-maker in cinema history was Walt Disney. He produced his first (black and white) Mickey Mouse cartoon in 1928. It was an instant hit

with both children and adults. More cartoons followed, including `Flowers and Trees`. Then three years later Disney created his second cartoon superstar –Donald Duck. By this time he had his own studio and a large team of cartoonists. These were the people who helped to draw the thousand `cells` for `Snow White And the Seven Dwarfs`.
A magical mixture of fantasy, comedy, music and colour, `Snow White` was a landmark in a cartoon history. It was also a huge hit with international audiences, who demanded more full-length cartoons.
They say, Disney seldom praised anybody and he didn't like to show his feelings and emotions. But once when he saw a few episodes from Bambi and turned to the animators there were tears in his eyes. This was how Disney approved of their work. But it happened only twice in thirty-nine years.
Disney respected people who could make some¬thing with their hands. He especially respected the carpenter working in the studio. Although every-one called Disney Walt and he called everybody by their first name, the carpenter was an exception to the rule. Disney always called him Mr. Rogers.
When Walt Disney was making a film, he al¬ways thought not only about children but also about grown-ups. That's why he tried to touch up-on the subjects of nature and life, he wanted to make people think about life, love, justice, about good and evil powers. There were episodes in Dis¬ney's films that did not leave a dry eye in the cine¬ma. At the same time all Disney's films are full of optimism and have a happy ending. A great num¬ber of people were brought up on Walt Disney's films and they are grateful to him for these unfor¬gettable moments in their childhood.
It may seem strange that after the success in animation, Disney directed his energies to a new field — constructing Disneyland. Everybody thought that it was impossible to realize this idea but Disney saw it as continuation of what he had been doing all his life. Disneyland (in California) and Disneyworld (in Florida) receive millions of visitors every year.
