Read and decide if the statements are true, false or nothing is known from the text Maps were made long before reading and writing were

invented. The earliest map that we know of is a cave painting on the Lascaux caves in France. The painting shows a part of the summer night’s sky 16500 years ago. Modern astronomers can still understand the night sky shown in the map. A four thousand year old map made by the Ba¬bylonians is still in existence. Many ancient map-makers thought that the world was flat, but explorers like Magel¬lan in the 15th century sailed around the world and helped to make better maps. Besides, measurements taken by satel¬lites show that our planet Is slightly pear-shaped. Satellites have also provided more accurate Information and have helped to see and map parts of the world that were lit¬tle known or never seen by humans before. Satellites have photographed the Amazon rainforest and have shown that the area the size of twenty football pitches is being cut down every minute. Pictures taken from space have also shown that one of the world's largest areas of inland water, the Aral Sea, has been shrinking very quickly. Modern satel¬lite maps show the effects of global warming and pollution and help us to understand the world around us better. More and more drivers nowadays rely on satellite navigation in their cars so the traditional road maps may not be around much longer.

Перевидите текст не с помощью ПЕРЕВОДЧИКА !!! The British are a sport-loving nation. Cricket, soccer,

rugby, tennis, squash, table tennis, badminton, canoeing and snooker were all invented in Britain. The first rules for such sports as boxing, golf, hockey, yachting and horse-racing also originated from Britain. The most popular sports that people take part in, rather than watching, are angling, snooker and darts.
Cricket is very much the English game. A match can take five days – and end in a draw. A form of cricket was being played 250 years ago.
Football began as a contest between neighboring villages – with no limit to the number on each side, no fixe pitch and almost no rules. The Football Association drew up the rules of the modern game in 1863 and in 1888 12 clubs joined together to form the first Football League. England won the World Cup in 1966. Rugby and football became two separate sports when the rules laid down by the Football Association said that only the goalkeeper could handle the ball. Two kinds of rugby are played in Britain. Rugby Union is played by amateurs in teams of 15 in the south of England and in Wales (where it is the national sport). Rugby League is played by professionals in teams of 13 in the north of England.
Golf was probably invented in Holland, but has been played in Scotland for at least 400 years. At first, it was played with balls made of wood, then of leather stuffed with feathers. The first rules for tennis were drawn up by the All-England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club when it held its first tournament in the London suburb of Wimbledon in 1877. Wimbledon is still the world’s most famous tennis event.
There are a lot of sports and games which are popular both among youngsters and gown-ups. 25 millions of grownup people take part in sports. Sports is one of the programme of all state and private schools and universities. Nearly of schools have sports grounds and swimming pools. Indeed, sports is a part of everyday life in Britain.

In London.London was a big surprise. It was small, and a didn't recognize any of the streets. They weren't the same as the streets of the London of my time. We went through the market. I liked it. They had everything: poems, medicine, roses, fish meat, oranges. There were people with sheep and pigs. I also saw a lot of beggars.Phillip lived with his aunt, countess Bagshow. We went to her hous and Phillip introducen me. " This boy can cure any disease", he said. The countess was wery happy, and I became her servant. I liked the house. The furniture was comfortanle, and I could sleep in a bed. The windows had glass in them. When I saw a toiled inside the house, I was very happy. There were no beds or toiled in Edinburg. That evening there was a feast iin the castle. The countess gave me a spoon and said. " You must come with your own spoon when somebody invites you to dinner".The people in the castl more beautiful, expensive clothes, but the smellthere was bad. I though all the people needed a bath. But there was no bathroom and no toilet in the castle! At the feast I had to stand behind the countess's chair and serve her.All the plates and curp were made of silver, and the food looked tasty. But I didn't like peoplse's manners. They ate with their hands and threw bones on the floor. Their hands were birty and their teeth were black , because they ate a lot of sugar. The Queen didn't smile. because her teeth were black too.At nigh the countess didn't feel well. She had stomathache and I had to help her. But I made a big mistek. I said " I am not surprised. You ate five chickens and two cakes at the feast. And you didn't wash you hands!" The countess was wery angry and told me to leave her house. My friends Phillip felt sory for me, but what could he do?I nedeed money so went to the market and started my own business. I predicted The future and gave people aspirin. Finally, the Queen invited me to her castle and I told her about the future of England. You know the end of the story. Now I am in the Tower, and everything is ready for my execution.
