ПОМОГИТЕ ПОЖАЛУЙСТА ПЕРЕВЕСТИ ТЕКСТ: Probably no story is better know all over the world than that of Robinson Crusoe. But we must remember that

10-11 класс

it is not a true story. It was imagined and written years ago by an englishman named Daniel Defoe. He was the first man to tell story in such a way as to make people believe it to be true. Although the adventure of Robinson Crusoe are imaginary, they might have happened in real life.

At the beginning of his story, Robinson Crusoe tells us that his father wanted him to become a lawyer, but that he himself wanted to become a sailor. His father, a wise and rather stern man, gave him serious advice, telling him that adventures abroad were best fitted either for rough and uneducated men or for men of superior fortune.

Sales contract
The sales contract is the legally binding agreement reached by the seller and
the buyer (the parties to the contract). It can be made orally or in writing, although
it is usual for the contract to be drawn up in writing to prevent disputes.
There are three ways to conclude a sales contract:
1. This is the most normal way of concluding a sales contract, because most
offers are non-binding. As non-binding offers can be changed or withdrawn at any
time, a sales contract does not exist until the seller confirms the order, making any
changes impossible.
2. Sellers tend to make firm offers when trading in goods where the prices
fluctuate a lot. They set a fixed and if the buyer doesn't place an order within the
period of time where, this price is valid, the offer with expires. The seller can then
make another offer with new prices to keep up with the prices on the market.
3. In this case, if the buyer is not interested in the goods, he is expected to
return them within a certain period of time, otherwise he will have to pay for them.
After a sales contract has been concluded, the seller and buyer have to fulfil
certain liabilities (that means there are certain things they have to do).
The seller's liabilities are:
- To deliver the goods on time and in perfect condition.
- To ensure that the title to the goods is transferred to the buyer — in other words, the
seller has to make sure that the buyer becomes the owner of the goods. This is
normally done by passing a special document, the document of title, to the buyer.
The buyer’s liabilities are:
- To accept delivery of the goods (this prevents him changing his mind after the
goods have been sent).
- To pay for the goods within the time agreed.
If one party doesn't fulfill its liabilities, the contract is broken (this is called
breach of contract). In this case the other party (injured party) can claim
compensation.

WHAT MAKES ALL PEOPLE KIN
People all over the world are very fond of sports and games. That is one thing in which people of every nationality and class are united.

The most popular outdoor winter sports are shooting, hunting, hockey and, in the countries where the weather is frosty and there is much snow — skating, skiing and tobogganing. Some people greatly enjoy figure-skating and ski-jumping.

Summer affords excellent opportunities for swimming, boating, yachting, cycling, gliding and many other sports. Among outdoor games football takes the first place in public interest; this game is played in all the countries of the world. The other games that have firmly established themselves in favour in different countries are golf, lawn-tennis, cricket, volley-ball, basket-ball, and so on. Badminton is also very popular.

All the year round many people indulge in boxing, wrestling, athletics, gymnastics and track and field events. Scores of young girls and women go in for callisthenics.

Among indoor games the most popular are billiards, table tennis, draughts and some others, but the great international game is chess, of course. The results of chess tournaments are studied and discussed by thousands of enthusiasts in different countries.

SPORTS AND GAMES POPULAR IN ENGLAND

— What would you say are the most
popular games in England today?

— Well, I suppose football, that
is, soccer or rugger, and cricket.

— What are the other outdoor
games?

— Oh, there's tennis, hockey,
golf, and so on. Tennis is played all the year round — on hard courts or grass
courts in summer, and on hard or covered courts in winter.

— What about horse-racing?

— I should say that is one of the
most popular sports in Great Britain. Then there are, of course, walking-races,
running, swimming and boxing.

— I've been told that there are
no winter sports in England.

— Well, you see, the English
winter isn't very severe as a rule, and we don't often have the chance of
skiing, skating or tobogganing, but winter is the great time for hunting,
provided the ground is not too hard.

— Is there any golf to be had
near London?

— Oh, yes, any amount. There are
dozens of good golf-links within an hour or so of London. You ought to join a
golf club if you're keen on the game.

— I think I shall if I get the
chance. What about indoor games?

— Well, there's chess, billiards,
cards, table tennis... By the way, do you play billiards?

— Well, I do, but of course, I'm
not a professional or a champion, just an ordinary amateur, and not a very good
one at that,

"You'd like almost everything about Russian life," he said warmly. "It's so informal, so impulsive, so free without question. And then the peasants are so splendid. They are such human beings–yes, that is it. Even the man who drives your carriage has–has some real part in what is happening. I remember the evening a party of us, two friends of mine and the wife of one of them, went for a picnic by the Black Sea. We took supper and champagne and ate and drank on the grass. And while we were eating the coachman came up. 'Have a dill pickle,' he said. He wanted to share with us. That seemed to me so right, so–you know what I mean?"
And she seemed at that moment to be sitting on the grass beside the mysteriously Black Sea, black as velvet, and rippling against the banks in silent, velvet waves. She saw the carriage drawn up to one side of the road, and the little group on the grass, their faces and hands white in the moonlight. She saw the pale dress of the woman outspread and her folded parasol, lying on the grass like a huge pearl crochet hook. Apart from them, with his supper in a cloth on his knees, sat the coachman. "Have a dill pickle," said he, and although she was not certain what a dill pickle was, she saw the greenish glass jar with a red chili like a parrot's beak glimmering through. She sucked in her cheeks; the dill pickle was terribly sour. . . .
"Yes, I know perfectly what you mean," she said. [Page 235]
In the pause that followed they looked at each other. In the past when they had looked at each other like that they had felt such a boundless understanding between them that their souls had, as it were, put their arms round each other and dropped into the same sea, content to be drowned, like mournful lovers. But now, the surprising thing was that it was he who held back. He who said:
"What a marvellous listener you are. When you look at me with those wild eyes I feel that I could tell you things that I would never breathe to another human being."
