LET ME INTRODUCE MYSELF
Hello, friends. Let me first introduce1 myself. You know how difficult it is to tell much in a very short time. But I'll try hard so you'll have some idea who I am.
My name is Katya. My surname2 or last name is Ivashenko. I was born on the 13th of October in Sochi. This is the nicest city in the Russian Federation situated on the Black Sea coast. Now I am a first-year student3 at the Faculty of Psychology of Volgograd State Pedagogical University. I’m a full time student4 as you’ve already guessed.
Now let me describe5 my appearance6. I am tall and slim7 and have fair8 hair and blue eyes. My friends say that I am pretty. I love reading, theatre and classical music. My favourite9 composer is Tchaikovsky. I don't like ballet too much. But I like theatre and I am a theatre-goer10. I spend much if not all of my money on theatres and books.
I would like to tell you about my family. There are five people in our family. My father's name is Leonid Borisovich. He is a professor of biology. My mother's name is Natalya Yakovlevna. She works in a research institute11 and she is a historian by profession. My parents are very educated people but simple and easy to be with12. We are great friends with my parents and I can discuss everything with them.
My younger sister is still a pupil. Her name is Tanya and she is in the 7th form. But she is so tall that you can think that she is a school graduate13. She is very strong too. That is because she plays basketball. She doesn't like to study much and we argue14 sometimes about it. But we are good friends with my sister.
My grandmother, who is my mother's mother, lives with us. She is very kind and helps us a lot.
We also have a dog Dazy and a cat Murka. They fight sometimes, but usually they are friends and miss15 each other.
Our family is very friendly, we have many friends and relatives16.
In May I have finished school No. 5. I did well17 in all the subjects but my favourite subjects at school were Biology and English. I also enjoyed18 lessons of Mathematics. Quite unusual for a girl, don't you think? My father always wanted me to be a biologist, like him. But I want to work with people, not with animals. I want to understand people better. And of course it will help me to understand myself better too. Also, I think that psychology is a fast developing science19 and I will always have an interesting job.
As you see, my biography isn't very long yet. But we'll meet again in the next lesson and I'll tell you more about myself. See you later...

As I was going up, I noticed a girl ahead of me almost at the top of the escalator. She was wearing a red jacket like mine. You know how you always feel curious about people you see wearing the same clothes, so I kept looking at her absent-mindedly. With growing amazement, I saw that the girl looked just like me from behind — same hairstyle, same colour, even her black bag was exactly like mine. The girl got to the top of the escalator before me. When I reached the top I looked around for her, but she had disappeared in the crowd of Saturday shoppers. I thought it was funny, until I went to look at some CDs in a shop window. I noticed another reflection in the window. I knew it wasn't me, it was the girl I had seen on the escalator. She was standing just behind me and looking at the same things. It was so weird. I turned round slowly but there was no one there. The next moment I caught a glimpse of the red jacket disappearing round the corner. But the weirdest bit was when I dashed after her and ran into my friend who was out shopping that day too. She looked surprised when she saw me. She said she had just seen me walk straight past her without even saying hello. She was sure the girl she had seen was me. I have read about it quite a lot, and the only explanation that fits what happened is that I saw my Doppelganger — my double. What bothers me, though, is that people usually see their Doppelganger before they die. I'm not easily scared, but I not wear that red jacket anymore.

#3. Working in Order
One of the biggest time wasters that a new tattoo artist can face is having to redo a stencil. This can happen because the original placement wasn’t correct, because it didn’t transfer fully, or—perhaps most frustratingly—because the artist himself has smeared or rubbed the transfer off of the skin. There are a few tattooing techniques that can remedy these situations.
In the case of smearing and rubbing, a common approach is to start outlining at one corner and work your way up and across to the other.
Generally speaking, it works best to start in the lower right-hand corner. Picture in your mind how your hand will be resting on the client’s skin, and you can see how working from top to bottom and right to left will keep that hand from dragging over parts of the design that haven’t yet been lined. Of course, if you are left-handed, it would make more sense to start at the bottom left corner of the design.
It’s impossible to always avoid smearing or rubbing a transferred design, but using this particular tattooing technique can definitely lessen the problem. Staying aware of what you’re doing will also help; if you’re thinking ahead, you’ll be able to avoid some complications. Remember that you’ll likely have to go back in and fill in the occasional line, and there’s no shame in that.
#4. Creating Smooth, Solid Lines
A major pitfall for the newbie tattoo artist is the inability to avoid knots, blowouts, and other signs that too much ink was quickly put into one spot. When this happens, the ink has nowhere to go and ends up spreading out under the skin, making a permanent mark that can ruin the overall design.
There are a few tattoo techniques you can employ in order to minimize or avoid creating these unsightly mistakes. First of all, make sure that your ink reservoir is full before you put the needle to the skin. This will allow you to run a line longer, without having to stop partway through and then pick back up, increasing your chance for a blowout or knot.
If you do need to stop partway through a line and then start again, try lightly lifting your needle toward the end of the first pass and then putting it back down lightly when tracing back over the spot and starting again. This gives the opportunity for the line to be as dark as the others but without the worry of putting down too much ink in one pass.
Another safeguarding tattooing technique is to make sure that the needle is already running before you press it to the skin, and to already have your hand starting the forward motion, too. This can help keep the needles from snagging or hanging up, which is another reason for knots and blowouts.
