ery big! It has three computer rooms and wonderful sport facilities. Actually,it seems a nice place and I enjoy studying there. The kids in my class are very friendly. I've already made some new friends and often meet after classes, I've got only new subject this year. It's Economics and I'm beginning to think that it's not difficult, after all! It quotes the case of Aileen. an 83-year old woman suffering arthritis, who stopped seeing her doctor for fear her cat would be taken from her if she was moved into a nursing home. In a study by Dr James Serpell of the University of Pennsylvania, three groups of people with similar health backgrounds were selected.The first groups were given cats, the second group dogs, and the third group were given no pets at all. Six months later, those with dogs reported only half as many health, problems as those with no pets. Cat-owners also showed a benefit, although a smaller one. Perhaps this is because owning a cat does not involve taking it for health walks. Dr Serpell argues that caring for pets people a sense of being needed. They make us feel respected, admired, and wanted. ''Our confidence, self-csteem, and ultimately our physical health depends on this sense of well-being''

They didn't understand that I couldn't even sit at the piano, my beautiful piano. I was scared, I didn't want to fail again. Then my mother had an idea. She convinced me to go and see another teacher, Mrs Finlay. I didn't want to but in the end I went to see her. She was kind and gentle, and she understood that I was afraid to play the piano, that it was almost like starting again.

Mrs Finlay was very patient. I went to see her every week and little by little I began to enjoy playing again. I began to practise again every day on my beautiful piano. I was so happy. I had gained back my pride and self-confidence.

It has been a very difficult time in my life, but I don't regret it. I feel stronger because of it. I lost some things for a time - my pride and self-confidence, but I got them back again with all my hard work and help from other people. I'm ready now, I've got another chance to play in the next national piano competition and make my dream come true. When I do, I want my parents and Mrs Woodham and Mrs Finlay to be there.
