The first thing one can see is a very large hill in the middle of Edinburgh — the Rock. Edinburgh Castle stands on the Rock.
It is the most famous building in the city.
Edinburgh is famous for many things: its art galleries, museums, libraries.
But it is especially famous for its festivals.
The best-known monument in Edinburgh is the Walter Scott Monument.
City Art center is the
home of Edinburgh’s fine art collection.
National Gallery of Scotland contains
paintings by Scottish and European masters from the 14th to 19th
centuries.

Edinburgh International Festival traces its history to 1947. It was established in the post-war efforts to improve the morale of the population . [1] And in the first year eight theatrical organizations have gone beyond the official part of organizing additional interventions transformed resulting in the Edinburgh Fringe . [2]International Festival and Fringe remain independent from each other with different events program. In recent years, they added many other festivals and cultural events organized by different organizations , but confined to the same time .
