"English as a Second Language." There were about 30 students in the classroom. It took almost an hour to get through a process of introducing ourselves. Stefan, Zofia, Marek, Jose, Pedro and Maria.
One at a time they rose from their chairs and stammered something I already knew from my books; an English alphabet, numbers, simple words like: a table, a chair, a boy, a man, a woman. The level of English suggested by the high school didn't seem to fulfill my expectations. I left the course.
After a month or so i tried again, but this time at college. After 15 minutes of introducing ourselves, a doctor of linguistic gave us a lecture about the history of English. Then we were told that it was very important to learn English in a country where English was spoken. It look three hours for the doctor of linguistic to tell us this. Again I left the course.

Petro Doroshenko has got an unusual collection. He collects rocks. “Rocks are beautiful," — says Petro. “Some of them have pretty colours. My smallest rock is the most interesting. My uncle found it near the Pacific Ocean. It’s difficult to find a rock like this.” Eighth former Borys Ivanchuk has an interesting hobby: cartoon animation2. He started this hobby when he was ten. His new cartoon is called Pencil Man. “Making Pencil Man was a lot of work,” he said. “First I had to make more than 2,000 drawings. Each one was just a little different. Then I used a camera to take a picture of each drawing. In the film the pictures move very quickly. Pencil Man looks like he is moving.” Boris is going to show Pencil Man at school gym on Tuesday at 3 o’clock in the afternoon. Don’t miss the show!
caring person with good communication skills. Since my childhood I have wanted to be either a nursery school or primary school teacher. These careers require further study after Year 11. So I am taking A levels in English, drama and IT* at college. I also take part in the college events —this is something pos-itive that I can write in my CV together with my work experience. I helped in both a nursery and a primary school. I thought it would allow me to develop both my key skills and my personal qualities. I asked the people who I worked with what qualifications they had done. They talked to me about the good aid bad aspects of the job of a teacher and what they liked about it. It is hard work but it allows you to fee] personal achievement, to feel respect, besides the salary is good. I liked to belong to a team and my work helped me to improve my confidence and to get the skills that I need for higher education or employment. Now I plan to go on to higher education after college. But if I decide to cliaiige any career in the future, I am certain that neither my skills nor experience will be useless to me.
