Everybody knows Harrods, and most people agree it's the best shop in London. Even the Queen and Queen Mother do their shopping there, so it must be good. It's the largest and most famous store in England. You can get everything fr om large tropical snakes to antique pianos. People like shopping in Harrods, and they spend a lot of money. The most money ever spent by a single customer was two million two hundred thousand pounds, and he paid in cash! It was the shop's biggest cash sale. About 50 000 people go to Harrods every day, but the busiest times are Christmas and the January and July Sales, when many more shoppers visit the store. People can find the biggest bargains on the first day of the Sales. The first day is the most crowded. On that day, about 300 000 people visit Harrods. One of the most popular buys at Christmas time are the Christmas puddings – Harrods sells over 120 tons of these a year. Harrods has a great many overseas visitors, and it exports many of its goods. Some of the most unusual export has included a Persian carpet to Iran, a fridge to Finland, six bread rolls to New York, and a pound of sausages to a yacht in the Mediterranean. My best and memorable day in my life is
considered the new year! On the eve of my always covers the strange
feeling that something needs to happen and joyful magical. Throughout
the festive atmosphere , all selected beautiful Christmas tree, buy
different fruits , sweets, prepare gifts for loved ones.
We begin
preparing for the holiday in advance. Clean the house , decorate the
Christmas tree ,Decorate the room with balls, garlands, beautiful toys.
Mom always cooks for the holiday table something unusual and very tasty.
I try not to sleep time of arrival of the new year under the chiming
clock . After the final blow on the street fireworks begins, which can
last for an hour! We usually have fun, hold various contests , dance,
sing . It's really fun!
Especially good when New Year's Eve worth
frosty snowy weather. In windows of all the houses flashing colored
lights . Celebrating and having fun .Apparently, due to the fact that
the New Year a general holiday , celebrate it so fun!

In the room where Mr Small. Dr Foam and Mrs Bulmer were talking to the children, there were some really old people. Mr Small went up to one of them. "I see that you're a very old man." he said.
"Yes. I am. I'm 90." the old man replied.
"Could you give the children here some advice about a balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle?" Mr Small asked.
"Sure. Follow my example. Don't smoke, don't drink, don't eat too much sugar or fat and drink lots of water."
At that moment Dr Foam found another old man. who looked older than the first one. He was sitting in a wheelchair, but his eyes were merry and bright.
"How old are you, sir?" Dr Foam asked.
"I'm ninety-five." the man replied.
"Can you tell us why you have lived so long?" Doctor Foam asked.
"It's easy. I always do exercise, and I don't smoke or drink. I spend a lot of time in the open air and I'm a vegetarian." Just then Mrs Bulmer decided to join in the conversation. She saw a very, very old man in the corner of the room. He had no teeth or hair and he couldn't see or hear very well, so she had to come very close to him. The children followed her.
"May 1 ask you a couple of questions, sir," she shouted.
"Yes." the old man whispered.
"Why have you lived so long, sir?" Mrs Bulmer asked.
"I don't know." the man replied.
"Tell us about your lifestyle," Mrs Bulmer continued.
"OK, then. I smoke thirty cigarettes a day and drink a bottle of whisky every day. Sometimes I also have two bottles of beer. I never eat vegetables or fruit and I live on chocolate and cakes."
"How old are you, sir?" Mr Bulmer exclaimed.
"I'm forty." the "old" man replied.
