She now had her own opinions, and at supper discussed with sasha's parents, saying how difficult the studies had become for the children at the school.

but after all, she felt a classical education was better than a commercial course, because when you graduated from school then the road was open to you for any career at all. if you chose to, you could become a doctor, or, if you wanted to, you could become an engineer.
sasha started at the school. as his father was away every day inspecting cattle and was sometimes gone for up to three whole days at a time, it seemed to olenka that sasha was completely abandoned, was treated as if he were quite superfluous, and must be dying of hunger. so she transferred him into her part of the house and fixed up a little room for him there.
every morning olenka would come into his room and find him sound asleep with his hand tucked under his cheek, so quiet that he seemed not to be breathing.
sashenka, she said sorrowfully, get up, darling. it's time to go to school.
he got up, dressed, said his prayers, then sat down to breakfast. the sleep was not yet out of him, so he was a little cross.
you don't know your fables as you should, sashenka, said olenca, looking at him as though he were departing on a long journey. помогите перевести только не с переводчика!!!

GCSE* (General Certificate of Secondary Education). We usually study from 8 to 12 GCSE subjects during the Years 10 and 11; and then choose subjects we will have the exams in. After Year 11, we have to decide what to do next. There are different opportunities. Some of my friends decided to go to colleges of further education,* which prepare students for work, and I will go to the sixth form.* Most secondary schools have sixth-form departments but there is no such department in my school. That's why I will go to a special sixth-form college.* I like it more because at college the atmosphere is different and pupils are treated as adults. At the 6th form stage, pupils are highly specialized in three or four subjects and take A level exams.* Good A level results in at least 3 subjects are necessary to get a place at a university or Art and Music College to get higher education. But not all pupils will get higher education after the sixth form. if you fail A level exams, you can go to colleges of

Since leaving school he has worked each winter in the Alps and each summer at a
resort in Greece.
“I have an unusual weekly schedule. Sundays are spent at the airport picking up our
new guests. Mondays and Tuesdays are spent guiding our guests around the resort.
On Wednesdays I'm behind the customer service desk, Thursday I have off, Friday
and Saturday nights I’m working behind the bar.
As
soon as I left school I made a decision to go abroad. (1) My first job
was working as a barman at the Italian resort of Clavier, and,
since then, I’ve done everything from laundry boy to restaurant supervisor.
At
the end of my first working season they asked me (2) whether I would
like to go and work at one of their Greek centres. As I came
from a sailing background, (3) I started teaching windsurfing.
I've visited lots of Europe and I definitely feel I have a career path in the making
because my boss really looks after the staff.
To do well in this job you need a bit of stamina but, most of all, you need to be good
at dealing with people. (4) I was let go but I quickly joined IBM in a similar role. I’m there to sort out any
problems
our clients have and to make sure they have a great holiday.” _Peter

the right attitude is if I wanted to change my career.
I applied to
Dartmouth Business School, one of the oldest in the US, and was lucky

Then I applied for a job in Atlanta. It was a very
interesting time for me - my work was very stimulating. Unfortunately,
the money for the project ran out and (6) I needed a formal business
qualification . It was IBM* that sent me back to work in its UK office.
It wasn't exciting so I left.
When I came back to the UK for a job
interview and (7) even though I’d been to one the US’s most famous

5-7 вопросов к тексту за 18 баллов George doesn't like staying at home when he is on holiday. He prefers going somewhere at the seaside. He enjoys

swimming, windsurfing, and diving. Three months ago he was at the Red Sea and when he came back, tanned and happy, he said that he had never have such a terrific holiday before. As he was very good at swimming and diving and was interested in biology, he managed to join a scientific expedition that studied the sea life of the Red Sea coast at that time. The researchers allowed him to help them in their work and gave him a special suit for diving, so he was able to stay deep in the sea for quite a long time. George was amazed how beautiful the underwater world was. Millions of brightly coloured fish moving busily around him. Crabs, turtles, and sea snakes looked at him curiously and then hurried about their underwater business. Once when George followed a little crab, a huge fish appeared from behind a coral rock. Though he had never seen sharks alive,he recognised it at once. Fortunately, the shark took no interest in him and disappeared into the depth as if it had much more important things to do. While George was working for the expedition, exploring the sea plants and animals in their natural conditions, he made a firm decision to go on studying biology and natural sciences as the research work became very attractive to him.
