In fast, two of the most famous people in Britain today are David Beckham, a footballer who plays for Manchester United and England, and his wife, Victoria, from the Spice Girls pop group. Some people have criticised David Beckham for spending more time on his celebrity lifestyle than on practising his football skills.
In the World Cup or European matches, the United Kingdom divides into four separate countries: England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. There is always great competition when England and Scotland play each other. Many Scottish fans will support any other team which is playing England, rather than cheer for their neighbours and fiercest rivals!
