She locked the door , got back into the car ' put on her seatbelts and started the car up. "Can we have the radio on,please'Mum? " said Kate. "OK," said Mum. "But let's get going or we'll never get to scholl today. " And the man on the radio said, "Good morning! Now for the latest news on this lovely Saturday morning... " "Saturday? I don't believe it! " said Mum. "Whoopee! " cried the kids.

classmates say that I’m trendy. Yes, I am! I enjoy wearing trendy clothes. I like to look cool and attractive. It’s very important to know what is in fashion at the present moment. I like shopping and spend hours picking clothes that suit me. My classmates say that I am interested in fashion too much, but it’s not that bad, is it? Sometimes I can appear in something really gorgeous. When you are up with the latest fashions you feel you are an individual. If I could I would wear different pieces of clothing every day. I wish I had lots of money to do that.

Phil Slager: I don’t care what I wear. More than that I don’t care what other people wear. My mum buys clothes for me at a market. Sometimes we have to shop in charity shops. Why not? Not all people can afford to be up to date with the latest fashions. I prefer casual things – jeans, T-shirts, sweaters or sportswear. My elder brother’s mates have spiky hair, tattoos and piercing. I wish my brother wouldn’t do that but he doesn’t listen. He says that they express their individuality. I don’t know if they are right or not but I would never have all those things.

Katya Guseva: Everyone in my class is really trendy. They spend a lot of time talking about clothes or accessories they want to spend their money on. Some friends of mine think that I’m boring and wear unfashionable things. Frankly speaking fashion is not very important for me. Fashion comes and goes. Looking clean and decent is more important than looking trendy, isn’t it? I prefer clothes which I feel comfortable in. I’m sure that you must feel good in what you wear and that is all. If I had a lot of money I would buy clothes which would never go out of fashion, or I’d rather buy some DVDs or a good book.

I go to school five days a week. Our classes start at 8 o'clock a. m. and last till 3 o'clock p.m. So we have 6 or 7 lessons a day. We study many different subjects: Ukrainian, Russian, English, literatures, history, biology, physics, chemistry and mathematics etc. Languages and history are my favourite subjects.
Because of the exams in this year I don’t go to the section and clubs. All my leisure time I am preparing for exams or rest.
At school I like to communicate with friends and learn new and interesting things during the lessons. But sometimes teachers ask too much homework and I don’t like it.
I admire my class teacher Lyudmila Ivanovna and history teacher Galina Alekseevna, they are really good teachers
The best moment in my school life this last year, when the session was canceled. All my classmates and I were very happy.

А. When I read the article about poor children in Africa I wanted to help by raising money. I discussed the idea with my classmates. We decided to raise money by walking around our local park in pyjamas! We called the project Sleepwalking. We went to the park one Saurday. We had a box for collecting money. We raised 150 poundos by people putting some coins in our box. All my classmates were involved. Everybody wanted to help the needychildren in poor countries. The charity walk was a great fun! We donated the money to UNICEF and we got a thank-you letter.

B. My friend Frank and I got the Childnet Award for the best site on the Internet. It was Frank's idea to design a website. We wanted to use the Internet for involving other children in volunteering. We used the website to present the photos and the video about those in need. We asked children from other schools to contribute to charity. We also organised a charity run for the project. We donate the books and 200 pounds to Children in Need. I feel really terrific, because I know I've done something good.

C. At school last term we had a non-uniform day. We wanted to raise money for Save the Children. Pupils paid money for not wearing their uniform. We went to school in our home clothes. I enjoyed being in my home clothes for the day. Also, we had a charity fair. I personally helped by organising sweet and cakes sale. We baked all the cakes ourselves. Our volleyball team had a game. Our teachers played against pupils. We paid to watch the game. I was supporting the pupils, but the teachers won. It was terrific! We raised 300 pounds. I feel good that I've helped one poor child in the world.
