Only 100 years ago traveling was dangerous and exhausting. It took ages to get from one city to another one. it took weeks to get from one country to another.
With years everything has changed. Nowadays you can get to the opposite side of the planet in hours. Now you can chose the means of transport. Уоu can travel by sea. by air, by train or by car. Of course, the fastest way is by plane, for example, it takes you only about 6 hours to get to the USA, which is really far away from us! And the slowest is by train or by car, but you can enjoy beautiful landscapes.
We are sure that traveling is a wonderful thing, because you can see other countries, different people, speak different languages and of course enjoy nice food while traveling.

ПЕРЕВЕДИТЕ ПОЖАЛУЙСТА НА РУССКИЙ БЛИЗКО К ТЕКСТУ: 1. The must - have thing for everyone is a mobile phone, but I think that only older people

should have them. Children are just wasting money and time on them, and it could damage their health. A lot of teenagers are used to taking their mobile phones to school now, but I don't see the real need to because schools will phone home if there are any problems.

2. I don't worry that people are listening. If you're in a public place, you're fair game. They're just social calls and I don't talk that long, just make plans with friends, find out what everybody is doing. Before people had mobiles, back in the 1970s, how did they make plans for Saturday night? Mobile phones are the perfect way to organise last-minute parties. Word spreads fast from phone to phone. Send a text, wait an hour and everyone will be at your house, even the cops!

3. They are everywhere on the campus, going from class all student have mobiles stuck to their ears. I hear kids say all kinds of things on their phones, things I don't want to hear about ... silly, unnecessary chats.
You get mobiles in class too. There's rarely a lecture when somebody's mobile doesn't go off! I just can't get used to it!
I find it so annoying because mobile calls become more important that face-to-face conversations. When a mobile rings, conversations get put on hold. That doesn't seem right!

4. I use my mobile to call my husband to tell him I'm OK. Mostly I use it when I want to put somebody's mind at ease, if I'm running late or in an emergency. Even then, I'm still not sure when or where it's acceptable to make a mobile-phone call. I am concerned about talking on my phone and disturbing people near me. I think I'm quiet enough, but I still wonder if it is OK.

There was a beautiful rose in a beautiful garden. Every morning she looked at the sun and smiled. But one morning when the sun came out he was surprised to see that his friend, the rose looked sad. He wanted to know what was the matter.
“Dear Rose,” said the sun, “why do you look so sad?”
“Oh dear!” answered the rose? “I am so unhappy because an ugly worm is eating my leaves and will not go away.
The sun felt very sorry for the rose. “I will not shine,” he said, “until Rose is happy.” So he hid behind a cloud.
The wind came along. ”Father Sun,” he cried,” why are you not shining today?”
“Rose is so unhappy,” answered the sun. “An ugly worm is eating her leaves and he will not go away. I will not shine until Rose is happy.”
“I ,too, am so sorry for Rose,” said the wind. “I won’t blow until Rose is happy.”
And the wind stopped blowing.
A bird was surprised when the wind stopped blowing.
“ Mr. Wind, ” he called,” why have you stopped blowing?”
“Rose is so unhappy. An ugly worm is eating her leaves and he will not go away. So Father Sun will not shine, Mr. Wind will not blow until Rose is happy”
“I also love Rose,” sang the bird. “I will not sing again until Rose is happy.”
The bird met a hen.
“Why do you look so sad? Why aren’t you singing?” said the hen.
“Rose is so unhappy. An ugly worm is eating her leaves and it will not go away. So Father Sun will not shine, Mr. Wind will not blow and I will not sing again until Rose is happy”.
“Really! Cried the hen. “Please tell me how this will help Rose? If you want to help Rose you must do something for her. Come with me.”
The hen and the bird went to see the rose. The old hen asked no questions. She did not even take the time to say good morning. She looked at the leaves of the rose with her little eyes. She found the worm and ate it.
“ There, “ she said. “See how I have helped Rose and at the same time had a delicious breakfast.”

Three men came to New York for a holiday. They came to a very large hotel and took a room there. Their room was on the forty-fifth floor. In the evening

the friends went to the theatre and came back to the hotel very late. "I am very sorry," said the clerk of the hotel, "but the lifts do not work tonight. If you don't want to walk up to your room, we shall make beds for you in the hall." "No, no," said one of the friends, "no, thank you. We don't want to sleep in the hall. We shall walk up to our room." Then he turned to his friends and said, "It is not easy to walk up to the forty-fifth floor, but we shall make it easier. On the way to the room I shall tell you some jokes; then you, Andy, will sing us some songs; then you, Peter, will tell us some interesting stories." So they began walking up to their room. Tom told them many jokes; Andy sang some songs. At last they came to the thirty-sixth floor. They were tired and decided to have a rest. "Well," said Tom, "now it is your turn, Peter. After all the jokes, I would like to hear a sad story. Tell us a long and interesting story with a sad end." "The story which I am going to tell you," said Peter, "is sad enough. We left the key to our room in the hall.

Переведите срочно надо! I study at boarding school. It is a school for girls aged 11-18. The best thing about boarding is girls you are always with

your friends. Besides, it is the best way to get a good education. The teachers encourage us to work our best because they want us to succeed in life. We are never afraid to take test or exams. We can go and see a teacher for help anytime. We study all the compulsory subjects and there are a lot of optional subjects. The discipline is rather strict at school. We watch less TV than we did it at home but there are a lot of other interesting activities to take part in. In the evening we do anything from dancing to playing games. We go on school trips and do a lot of sports. But, of course, I sometimes miss my family.
