Помогите пожалуйста с английским, очень надо. Нам задали тест, а я не знаю как на вопросы отвечать , текст из теста не могу вставить( пишет, что ошибка) ,

1) A group of people remembered different stories about fish and diamonds, as after the dinner the woman said that very often diamonds and pearls had been found inside fish.
2) He promised to tell them a real story about fish.
3) The old man used to live in New York.
4) He left New York as he should have gone to England.
5) Old man's girlfriend promised to wait for him.
6) He had bought an expensive diamond ring before going back to New York.
7) He threw the ring into the sea, because he read in the newspaper that his girlfriend had married. 
8) While he was eating in the restaurant he found a fishbone.
9) He wasn't surprised at all. As this situatuin is typical for the restaurants. The group of friends was excited about his story so they waited for the conclusion, that's why they were surprised at the end, when the old man told them that it had been a fishbone instead of the ring.
