Взглянув наверх, он обнаружил, что его жена «распята» на потолке, и из её ран течёт кровь. В следующее мгновение она вспыхнула пламенем. Джон приказал Дину вынести Сэма из дома, в то время как сам отчаянно и тщетно пытался спасти жену, пока пламя не охватило дом полностью... Прошло несколько лет ...
