I love this quiz show a lot! It transmitted on ITV and is hosted by Chris Tarrant, my favourite TV presenter. Most of all I like the cash prize which is very, very large : one million pounds! Fantastic! But players can get the prize only if they correctly answer 15 multiple-choice questions. If they are unsure of the answer to a question, they can use one of three "lifelines" : "Phone a friend", "Ask the audience" and "50:50". The best moment of the show is when a player refuses to answer the question and then any TV viewer can play Walkaway SMS game and answer the question for the chance to win a 1,000! I think I will try one day. Once, my form teacher said that quiz shows were bad for education. Maybe, Who wants to be a millionaire? is not a very educational show but it is rather informative and very entertaining!
I don`t watch TV a lot, but when Star Academy is on I can`t get enough! Star Academy is a pop music talent contest. Contestants live in a boarding school and attend singing and dancing classes and are filmed with hidden cameras day and night. It`s very entertaining! Once a week, the contestants take part in live music performances. They are all competing ... that`s what makes the show so interesting! Each week either the group members, or the millions of TV viewers, decide which person is eliminated until there is one winner. The eliminations are always so exciting because you don`t know whether your favourite person will stay in or will go. The winner is awarded a record deal or a cash prize and, what is more important, the winner gets the chance to become a successful music artist. I love everything about this show!

Мне очень нравиться эта телевикторина!Она передаётся на ITV и её ведёт Крис Таррант,мой любимый телеведущий.Больше всего мне нравиться денежный приз,он очень очень большой:один миллион фунтов!Фантастически!Но игроки могут получить приз только если они ответят на 15 вопросов с несколькими вариантами.Если же они не уверены что ответят(не могут определиться с ответом) на этот вопрос,они могут использывать одну из трёх "линий жизни":"позвони другу","Спроси у аудитории" и "50:50".Лучший момент в шоу, когда игрок отказывается отвечать на вопрос, а затем любой телезритель может играть в WalkAway или отправить смс и ответить на вопрос, чтобы получить шанс выиграть 1000!Я думаю что как нибудь попытаюсь поучаствывать в шоу.Однажды, мой классный руководитель сказала, что телевикторина плохо влияет на образование.Но кто же не хочет стать миллионером?Может быть, это не очень образовательное шоу но оно довольно таки информативное и очень интересное!!!

Лучший момент шоу - когда игрок отказывается отвечать на вопрос, и затем любой телевизионный зритель может играть в игру SMS Walkaway и ответить на вопрос для шанса выиграть 1,000! Я думаю, что попробую один день. Однажды, мой учитель формы сказал, что шоу викторины были плохи для образования. Возможно, Кто хочет быть миллионером? не очень образовательное шоу, но это довольно информативно и очень интересно!

"Fish and chips" is deep-fried fish in batter with deep-fried potatoes, and a popular take-away food. Fish and chips is originally from the United Kingdom, but also very popular in Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, South Africa and some coastal towns of the Netherlands and Norway; and also increasingly so in the United States and elsewhere. For decades it was the dominant (if not the only) take-away food in the United Kingdom.
The fried potatoes are called chips in British and international usage; and while American English calls them french fries, the combination is still called "fish and chips". (Potato chips, an American innovation, are a different potato-derived food, and are known as crisps in the United Kingdom.)
Fish and chips have separately been eaten for many years – though the potato was not introduced to Europe until the 17th century. The originally Sephardi dish Pescado frito, or deep-fried fish, came to Netherlands and England with the Spanish and Portuguese Jews in the 17th and 18th centuries.
The dish became popular in more widespread circles in London and the south-east in the middle of the 19th century (Charles Dickens mentions a "fried fish warehouse" in Oliver Twist) whilst in the north of England a trade in deep-fried "chipped" potatoes developed.
It is unclear when and where these two trades were merged to become the fish and chip shop industry we know today. The first combined fish and chip shop was probably the one opened in London by Joseph Malin in 1860.
During World War II, fish and chips were one of the few foods that were not rationed in the UK.
