He said it
was nice to see her again. He said she looked great. He asked where she had got
such a great tan. He asked if she had gone to the seaside. He asked if she'd
gone to the Crimea, the Red Sea or the Mediterranean Sea. He said that that
dark soft tan could only be from the coast of the Dead Sea. He asked if he had
guessed it. He asked if she had gone there that summer. He asked if had gone
there with her parents or friends. He asked if the hotel had been expensive. He
asked her if she had liked the food and why.
She asked
if he would ever give her a chance to answer at least one of his questions. She
asked if she could at least say “Hello! It’s nice to see you again!”.
He said he
didn’t care about her good manners. He asked her to tell him about her holidays.
He said he was dying of curiosity.
She said that
curiosity had killed the cat. She said that she was really afraid to disappoint
him. She said she hadn’t gone to any of those places.
He said she
looked so different. He said she’d become taller and she looked so sporty. He
asked her where she had been the whole summer. He said she had called her
several times but she’d never been in.
She said it’d
not been easy to catch her at home. She said had left very early. She bets he
was sleeping like a log at that time.

I`m writing to tell you about my niece, Mary. She`s only seven and she`s in hospital at the moment. She was in a bad car accident two weeks ago and she broke both her legs. She`s had one operation and now she`s waiting for another, then she`ll have to be in a wheelchair for quite a while. Anyway, I am constantly amazed by this little girl`s courage: she never cries when she has an injection, and very rarely complains about the considerable pain that she must be in. When I go in to visit her she always has a smile for me, and last time I went she was comforting another girl who was upset because her parents couldn`t come and visit her. I`ve also noticed that she shares all the chocolates and toys that people have given her with the other children in her ward. I don`t know how many adults would be as generous as that! Вот предложение "Does power in Britain belong to the Queen? (Jane) нужно переделать в косвенную речь, получилось-Jane asks if power in Britain belong to the Queen. как перевести правильно это предложение?
