Distinction will be made between two variants : Scottish English and Irish English and five main groups of dialects :Northern ,Midland, Eastern,Western and Southern. But this classification of the English dialects is sufficient only for purposes of a broad grouping . Every country has its own peculiarities,and sometimes as many as three dialects regions may be distinguished within the boundaries of a single shire
