An important symbol of Scotland is a special kind of material called tartan. Another symbol of Scotland is the thistle. Another symbol of Wales is a vegetable called the leek. People wear them on their coats on St. David’s Day, the Welsh national holiday. Welsh people are famous for their singing and their musical festivals. The most famous symbol of Ireland is shamrock. In Ireland you may see different shades and tones of green. The Irish are famous for their playing, singing and dancing. Everyone who was born in Britain is British. People from England are the English. They are Scottish or the Scots; the Welsh and the Irish. People from Scotland and Wales don’t like when they are called the English. Everyone in Britain speaks English. But in some parts of Scotland and Wales people speak different languages as well. The Welsh are especially proud of their language. Everyone in the UK speaks English but they all speak it differently.

Шотландия известна за свои красивые пейзажи и озерами.Важным символом Шотландии является специальный материал который называется тартан.Еще один символ Шотландии - чертополох. Еще один символ Уэльса семена овоща - лука-порея. Люди одевают пальто и его (лук-порей) на день Святого Давида. Это национальный праздник Валлии. Валлийские люди известны песнями и музыкальными фестивалями. Самый популярный символ Ирландии - трилистник. В Ирландии в мае можно увидеть много цветов и оттенков зеленого. Ирландцы известны за их игру, пение и танцы.Все, кто родился в Британии - британец. Люди с Англии - англичане.Они шотландцы (потому что родились) в Шотландии. Валлийцы и Ирландцы. Люди из Шотландии и Уэльса не любят, когда их называют англичанами. Все Британцы говорят на английском. Но в некоторых частях Шотландии и Уэльса они говорят на других языках. Валлийцы гордятся своим языком. Каждый, кто живет в Великобритании, говорит на английском, но они говорят по разному.

The full name of the statue is “Liberty Enlightening the World” and it was presented to the USA by Frenchmen on 28 October 1886 in order to commemorate the centennial of the American Revolution. Thus, the statue symbolizes freedom and democracy of American nation. Another remarkable symbol is the crown on the head of Statue of Liberty. It has seven rays on it, which symbolize seven continents and seven seas. The crown also contains 25 windows symbolizing earthly gems and heavenly rays, which illuminate the world. The Statue of Liberty is almost always open for visitors. People arrive here by ferry and then climb on top of the structure, where the museum of statue’s history is situated. People can also see well the spectacular New York Harbor from the top of the statue. Each year millions of tourists from all over the world visit the Statue of Liberty and remember this trip for a lifetime.
