ПОМАГИТЕ ПЕРЕВЕСТИ ТЕКСТ Almost every summer I visit my grandparents there. This summer was not an exception. In June and July I stayed in the country.

5-9 класс

There I enjoyed fresh air, pleasant views of the surrounding nature. I helped my grandma and grandpa about home and in the garden. I watered plants and weeded the garden, mowed the long grass.

People in countries outside the
British Isles often call the inhabitants ' of the United Kingdom
English. This is incorrect, for there are at least four main
nationalities, the English, the Scots, the Welsh and the Irish. These
four nationalities each have their own language and culture.

The population of the United
Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland is almost fifty-six
million. A little more than seven million people live in the London
area. Britain is mainly an industrial country, and most of the people
live in large towns. The lands which produce nothing, especially the
hilly country in Northern Scotland, have almost no population.

Great Britain is highly
industrialized, this was the country in which the earliest
developments of modern industry took place.

London, the capital, is one of many
important industrial centers. Lots of things such as clothes, food,
planes and cars are made in and around London.

Birmingham is the biggest town
in an important industrial area near the centre of England. Machines,
cars and lorries are made in this area. TV sets and radios are also
produced there.

Manchester in the north-west of
England is the centre of the cotton textile industry, one of
Britain's most important producers of computers and electronic
equipment.

Coal-mining is important in
South Wales, but many of the mines5 there have been closed. There is
much unemployment in South Wales today. A smaller industrial area is
situated in North Wales, where steel6 and chemicals are produced.

Ship-building is an important
industry in the United Kingdom. The main ship-building centers are
London, Glasgow in Scotland, Belfast in Northern Ireland and some
others.

Sheep can be seen in many parts
of England and Scotland, and there are a lot of cattle-farms and
farms where milk, butter and cheese are produced. But only half of
the food the country needs is produced by British agriculture.

Wheat is grown in the east of
England. Vegetables are grown in all parts of England, especially in
the south. Potatoes are grown everywhere on the British Isles.

Some kinds of fruit, especially
apples, can grow in the south where the temperature is higher and
there are more hours of sunshine than in the northern regions.

Перевести текст срочно!!!!! Заранее спасибо Well, Petey ran on and on. Bui he couldn't find a dog who would give his boy away. Petey was very sad. His

little legs were very tired. My mother was right, he thought. There isn’t a boy to be found [невозможно найти мальчика). Just as it was getting dark, he came to a large building. Petey was walking by it slowly when he saw a sign: Home for Boys. “Maybe I could find a boy here!” said Petey to himself. “These boys have no parents, and no dog to take care of them." He walked slowly up to the home. He was so tired he could hardly lift his little paws (едва переставлял свои лапы). Then Petey stopped. He listened. He could hear music. He looked through the window. He saw a Christmas tree, and children singing carols (новогодние песни).Then Petey saw something else. In front of the building, all by himself (совершенно один), sat a boy! He was not a very big boy, and he looked lonely (одиноко), Petey gave a glad little cry. He forgot that he was tired. He jumped up and landed in the boy's lap (оказался па коленях у мальчика). Sniff, sniff, went Petey's little nose. Wag, wag, went Petcy’s tail. He licked the little boy with his warm, wet tongue. How glad the boy was to see Petey! He put both his arms around the little dog and hugged him (обнял его). Then the front door opened and a lady looked out. “Why, here you are, Ricky!” she said, “What are you doing here all alone (совсем один)? Come on in and sit near the Christmas tree.** Petey sat very still. The boy sat still* The boy looked up at the lady and down at Petey. Petey began to tremble (дрожать). Would the boy go in and leave him {бросит его)1 *Tm not alone,” said the boy, “I've got a puppy.” “A puppy!” The lady came out and looked at Petey in surprise (удивленно).Can he come, too?" said the boy. “Why,” said the lady, ‘"you’re a nice little dog. Where did you come from? Yes, bring him in/' “Come on, puppy,” cried the boy. A lot of boys were playing around the Christmas tree. They rushed (бросились к) to Petey. They were so happy to see him. Petey wagged (вшч) his tail. He wagged his fat little body. He licked {облизал) every one of the boys. “Can we keep him?" said one, “Can we give him some dinner?” said another.“Can we make him a nice warm bed?” said a third. “We will give him some dinner and a nice warm bed,” said the lady.tomorrow we will find his mother and see if she'll let him stay," Petey knew his mother would let him slay. She knew how much he wanted a boy. “She’ll be surprised.” said Petey to himself, with a happy little smile, “when I lell her I got fifty boys for Christmas!"

Some people have good memories, and can easily learn quite long poems by heart. But they often forget them almost as quickly as they learn them. There are other people who can only remember things after they repeated them many times but when they know them they don’t forget them.
Charles Dickens, the famous English writer, that be could walk down any long street in London and then tell you the name of every shop in it. Many of the great men of the world have wonderful memories.
A good memory is a great help in learning a language. Everybody learns his own language by remembering what he hears when be is a small child, and some children – like boys and girls who live abroad with their parents – learn two languages almost as one. In school it is not easy to learn a second language because the pupils have so little for it, and they are busy with other subjects as well.
The best way for most of us to remember things is to join them in our mind with something which we know already, or which we easily remember because we have a picture of it in our mind. That is why it is better to learn worlds in sentences, or to see, or do, or feel what a word means when we first use it.
The human mind is rather like a camera, but it takes photographs not only of what we see but of what we feel, hear, smell and taste. When we take a real photograph with a camera, there is much to do before the photograph is ready. In the same way, there is much work to be done before a picture remains forever in the mind. Memory is the diary that we all carry about with us.
