Perhaps it is no secret that the Internet is an integral part of modern life . Probably today will be very hard to find someone who has never used the Internet . Modern children master computer, and with it the Internet , far faster than the periodic table . Today , the internet can do : communicate with your friends , search for new friends, order things , to buy equipment . It
should be noted that today, thanks to the internet we can learn world
news , weather, read books, listen to music, not attached nor any
effortlessly than pressing a few buttons. Today,
all universities have their own websites where students can find and
download all the lectures , just take online- tests , communicate with
teachers via e-mail , which is problematic to meet. The Internet has become an integral part of our lives . The
Internet gives us the opportunity to communicate with each other , make
new friends , learn, earn , and just killing time with pleasure.
The Internet today is an important source of communication and it plays an important role in the life of every person. It brings people of the world closer together. The Internet makes the world smaller because through the Internet we can communicate with people from all over the world. People are so fond of computers and the Internet, that sometimes they forget to go for a walk or to eat something. Most of them like virtual life even more than the real one. People meet one another in the Internet, fall in love and even love. They don’t need your appearance, they love you as you are, your thoughts and manners. You can find virtual true friends in the Internet world. You can tell him/her all secrets you have and they will not gossip or laugh at you. Internet resources help people get latest news improve knowledge by providing access online libraries. Internet is the center of attention for businesses, governments and individual around the world. It has spawned entirely new industries transformed existing ones and become a global cultural phenomena. Communicating through the Internet gives the opportunity to know and other people of other nations and find out their culture, to make comparisons between regions and even to learn new things from that communicated with. To my mind, life without the Internet would be dull, but should life a real life.

Miss Martha Meacham kept a little bakery.Miss Martha was forty, and had two thousand dollars in a bank, two false teeth and a kind heart. Many people have married who had less possibilities to do so than Miss Martha. Two or three times a week a man came into her shop to buy bread and very soon she began to show interest in him.He was a man of middle age with spectacles and a short brown beard. His clothes were poor, but he looked clean and had very good manners. He always bought two loaves of stale bread.Fresh bread was five cents a loaft .Stale loaves were five for two.He never bought anything but stale bread. Once Miss Martha saw red and brown stains on his fingers. She was sure then that he was an artist and very poor one.Of course he lived in a little room , where he painted pictures and ate stale bread , and thought of good things in Miss Martha's bakery. Often when Miss Martha sat down to eat her good dinner, she thought about the poor artist and wanted him to share her meal instead of eating his stale bread. Miss Martha, as you have been told, had a very kind heart. In order to find out his profession, she brought from her room one day a painting that she had once bought and put it against the shelves behind a bread counter. It was an Italian painting.A beautiful palace stood near a lake.Miss Martha was sure that an artist would notice it. Two days later the man came into the shop. “Two loaves of stale bread, if you pleas”.”You have a fine picture here, madam”, he said while she was getting the bread. “Yes?” said Miss Martha.”I love art and (she could not say “artists”)and paintings,” she added.”You think it is a good picture, do you?” “The palace,” said the man, “is not in good drawing. The perspective of it is not true.Good morning, madam.” He took his bread and hurried out. Yes, he must be an artist.Miss Martha took the picture back to her room. How kinde his eyes were behind his spectacles! What a broad forehead he had!To be an artist-and to live on stale bread! But a genius often has to struggle before it is recognized. How good would it be for art if a genius was helped by two thousand dollars in the bank, a bakery, and a kind heart too – but these were only dreams. Often now when he came, he talked for some time with Miss Martha. And he continued buying stale bread, never anything else. She thought he was looking thin. She wanted to add something good to eat to his bread, but she had no courage to do it.She knew about artists' pride. Miss Martha began to wear her best blue silk blouse almost every the room behind the shop she cooked some mixture for her face.

and better medical care the average person will live to 90 or 100 instead of 70 and 75 like today. When the human genome is decoded, we'll probably live up to 150. Incurable diseases will be cured and "bad" genes replaced.
But that's tomorrow. And today, we continue to stuff ourselves with fast food — chips and pizzas, hamburgers and hot dogs. We are always in a hurry.
We have no time to enjoy a home-cooked dinner with family and friends. We want to eat now and we want to eat fast.
What is tasty is not always healthy. Doctors say that chips and pizzas are fattening, cola spoils our teeth and coffee shortens our lives.
If we eat too much, we'll become obese, and obesity leads to heart disease, diabetes and other serious illnesses. But the world today is getting fatter and fatter. America is the world's leader in obesity, but Europe is quickly catching up.
Lack of exercise is another serious problem. We spend hours in front of our computers and TV-sets. Few of us do morning exercises. We walk less, because we prefer to use cars or public transport.
Research shows, however, that young people who don't take enough exercise often suffer from heart attacks.
It's common knowledge that smoking and drinking can shorten our lives dramatically. Cigarette-smoking, for example, kills about 3 million people every year. Many of them die from lung cancer. Some aren't even smokers. They are people who live or work with heavy smokers.
Yet many young people smoke and drink. Why? One answer is that tobacco and drinks companies invest enormous sums of money in advertising their products. For them cigarettes and alcoholic drinks mean money. For us they mean disease and even death.
We all know that the healthier we are, the better we feel. The better we feel, the longer we live. So why not take care of ourselves?

Dear Jack,
Thank you for your letter. I was happy to hear from you.
I'll try to answer your questions. In my country television is popular among adults, while most teens use the Internet. I usually watch films at home but I never miss a chance to go to the cinema with friends. It's much more exciting to watch film together. A well-known Russian actors are Sergei Bezrukov, Vadim Andreev, Sergei Svetlakov and others.
By the way, is your new teacher better than last? Does he has a sense of humor? Does he like his work?
Sorry, I have to help my mother. Write back soon.
Best wishes,
Anna
