Dear Jane,
I was really pleased to receive your postcard. It sounds like you had a great time in Spain. Anyway, you will never believe what happened to me last weekend. I was going to Anne's party when it started to rain. As I was waiting at the bus stop a car was driving (или возьми drove) past me at full speed. Before I knew it, I was soaking wet. I felt miserable - the people at the bus stop were laughing and I looked a mess. It was very embarrasing. Why do these things always happen to me?

Я была очень рада получить твои открытки. Похоже, ты прекрасно провела время в Испании. В любом случае, ты никогда не поверишь, что со мной произошло в минувшие выходные. Я шла на вечеринку к Энн, когда начался дождь. Пока я ждала на автобусной остановке, какой-то автомобиль пронесся мимо меня на полной скорости. Прежде чем я поняла это, я была мокрая.
