TV is one of the mass media kinds. Radio and newspapers tell us about different events but TV not only tells but also shows. Television has become an everyday part of our lives.
TV has a lot of advantages and disadvantages. One of the advantages of watching television is the possibility to be well informed. It's the main source of information and a cheap form of entertainment for millions of people. It keeps us informed about what is happening in the world. TV helps us to know more about the world, about the others counties, about the events that happened in the world. It is a wonderful way to relax and switch off from our problems. There's always a great variety of programmes on TV: news and sports programmes, talk shows and TV games, documentaries and feature films, concerts and theatre performances. Television provides great opportunities for education. TV also gives us wonderful and effective possibilities for education. Due to mass media we become better informed by watching documentaries, science programs and discussions. With the help of TV it is possible to learn foreign languages
But some people argue that television is a terrible waste of time. TV cuts people from the real world. People become lazy. Television takes free time of the people. Instead of reading books people watch various TV programmes. People become TV addicts. Many of us become coach potatoes which is unhealthy. The trick is to learn to control television and use it intelligently. The best thing is to watch only selective TV programmes.
I think television is a wonderful invention. It is almost impossible to imagine our life without TV. It plays a great and a very important role in the life of modern man.
