Помогите перевести текст пожалуйста US department stores launch counter-attack As consumers demand better value and a more interesting and stimulating

experience while shopping, department stores face a clear choice: adapt or die. 'My concern is that they will become retail museums' says Britt Breemer, chairman of America's research group 'The bottom line is that they have to admit they are in trouble and figure out some way to reinvent themselves. This may help to explain why four times as many households visit discount stores as department stores. Department stores face mounting competition from specialty retailers and discounters, such as wall mart and target. Their steady loss of market share may be partly because the concept was born in a different era, a time when, for families, a trip to stores combined shopping with entertainment. What is needed, say retail experts, is a new approach. A typical example of this approach working is seen at Selfridges. This UK group has recast itself from a sleepy 1970s style department store into a retailing experience fit for the 21st century, says Wendy Liebmann, president of WSL strategic retail. One of the main changes is that more floor space is rented to vendors, in what is sometimes referred to as the showcase business model: vendors design their own booths and are encouraged to be creative. The Selfridges model, says Peter Williams, CEO of Selfridges, is about creating an experience that is new, interesting and different where it is not just the product that is different. He says the problem with US department stores is that they all look the same. Arnold Anderson, management consultant believes Selfridges could be a prototype for failing US department stores 'It has brought back excitement and novelty and it is really seducing customers by developing the right merchandise, in the right quantities at the right time. Federated, which owns Macy's and Bloomingdale's appears to be moving in the right direction. Forty two stores are being upgraded with the latest components of its reinvent strategy, including enhanced fitting rooms, convenient price-check devices, comfortable lounge areas, computer kiosks and shopping carts. The challenge department stores face is how to develop in a sector that is, essentially, not growing. But if they adapt, many industry observers believe they will survive. 'The department store is not dead it will live on' said Robert Tamilia, professor of marketing at the ubivercity of Quebec. But it will not be the same animal it was before.

Gerzon believes that conflict exists in nearly every part of life. Conflict can occur when people work together. Leaders need to understand only one part of the company. Twentieth-century leaders rarely accepted responsibility for their mistakes. People who disagree with management feared they will lose their jobs. Good mediators are likely to be respected by staff. Using mediation to resolve conflict takes time. A competitive team needs one good leader.

Understand your team and the rest is easy

Mark Gerzon, author of «Leading Through Conflict: How Successful Leaders Transform Differences into Opportunities», has noticed that most things in life involve conflict.

Some of these conflicts emerge when people come together from different backgrounds where views, cultures and beliefs may not be shared by their colleagues. Today some 63,000 companies are operating internationally, employing 90 million people and responsible for a quarter of the world's gross national product.

'We simply cannot manage a whole company, a whole community, and certainly not a whole planet, with leaders who identify with only one part.' he writes. He therefore believes that future corporate leaders will need to be experts in mediation rather than the controlling style of leaders which was apparent during the 20th century.

These controlling leaders always blamed someone else for failures and achieved success only because employees were frightened of losing their jobs. Sadly such methods still exist in some companies. Similarly, people who question management in companies where employee morale is very low are seen as trouble makers and are often dismissed by the company. But suppose they have a point? Trouble makers are likely to respect a leader with good mediation skills because they feel that someone is listening to their complaints.

One problem with mediation in leadership is that it takes time, something this highly competitive world has little of. That is why the most competitive teams need individuals who are all capable of leadership. People need to talk all the time about their various tasks and work towards the same objective, and any conflicts should be managed in a way that does not disrupt the harmony of the team.

Помогите,пожалуйста с CONCLUSION? и проверьте эссе в целом. Experience of my life My name is Anna. I am 18 years old. I am from Russia. I

find myself a powerful person. Becoming me as a strong personality began in childhood when I started to play volleyball. Our team had to "fight for place" in the starting lineup, where you must show leadership qualities. Doing this sport for a long time, I have become stronger and smarter person. I can also add that I learned very well to adapt fast to the situation, I can feel where I can say something, comment, add and where I shouldn't do it. What is more, I am very emotional, but a lot of feelings I keep inside. In a stressful situation for some time I can be suppressed like any another person, but I try to treat everything positive. Besides, I am very caution. Before I do something, I think about future repercussion. Nevertheless, one should accept that I am purposeful. If I have a goal, I will achieve the goal any ways and any methods. Despite any qualities, I am afraid of the terrible situations that can happen in our lives. So, this story will be about the fear of my life.

I had some experience in my life when I was really scared. It happened in Los Angeles in 2010. It was summer time. I have been studying English in a language school. When I arrived from school to my home, I went to cafe. One guy fixedly looked at me for a long time... I thought: "It is ok! It is not a reason for worry". I have just decided to change this cafe to a different place. When I went out, he went with me. I was in shock. In a result, I decided to come back home. This guy followed me and shouted something. I began to run where I saw people. When he saw that I haven't already been alone, he stopped to go after me. Then I came home and couldn't believe that this situation happened to me. I can't even imagine what would happen if I didn't see the people and wouldn't go in their direction. I remember that after this incident, I was depressed for a long time. I never told anyone of close people about it. I didn't want them to be worry. Nowadays, I am so happy that everything ended good and I'm scared to be solitary in unknown places.

I have changed as a person and I can feel the changes myself. I became to see many situations in my life on the other hand. For example, before when I listened something about similar situations, I didn't understand all... So, I became more careful to my life. I began to appreciate life more. Now I try not to walk alone in the evening in unfamiliar places. We can't know everything that can happen to us, so we need to value every moment.

To sum up, I believe that we will finally solve all our problems and will live happily. We must take good care of our life and be careful everywhere.
