Павла, самая крупная из английских церквей. Она была построена в 17 веке Кристофером Реном. Лондонский Тауэр был основан Юлием Цезарем и в 1066 г. перестроен Вильгельмом Завоевателем. Его использовали как крепость, королевский дворец и тюрьму. Сейчас это музей. Вестминстер — это правительственный район Лондона. В Вестминстерском аббатстве были коронованы почти все английские короли и королевы. Многие выдающиеся государственные деятели, ученые, писатели, поэты и художники похоронены здесь: Ньютон, Дарвин, Чосер, Диккенс, Теннисон, Киплинг и т. д. Через дорогу от Вестминстерского аббатства находится Вестминстерский дворец, место заседания британского Парламента. Башня с часами на здании Парламента известна своим большим колоколом, называемым «Биг Бен». Букингемский дворец — это официальная резиденция королевы. Вест-Энд самая богатая и красивая часть Лондона. Это символ богатства и роскоши. Здесь находятся наилучшие гостиницы, магазины, рестораны, клубы и театры. Трафальгарская площадь — географический центр Лондона. Она была названа в память о победе адмирала Нельсона в Трафальгарской битве в 1805 г. Высокая колонна Нельсона стоит посередине площади. На северной стороне Трафальгарской площади расположена Национальная портретная галерея. Недалеко от нее — Британский музей, самый большой музей в Лондоне. During the Second World War Roald Dahl was a fighter pilot. He began writing books for both chiildren and adults, and soon became a popular writer. A film was made after it.
