НУЖЕН ПЕРЕВОД I am writhing to you to tell you about our stay in Washington, D.C. You have asked me to write about the US capital. So i am

doing it in this letter. We really love the city. It is so green and so clean. It is situated on the Potomac River, on a piece of land called the District o f Columbia, which is why people call the US capital Washington, D.C. It is not the biggest city in the United States, but it is the most important. The buildings are not very tall, the streets and avenues are straight, green and beautiful. The longest and the biggest avenues are named after American states. We have already done the centre of the city. We have been to the White House seen the Capital. The Capitol is really great. This is where the United States Congress meets and makes laws. The building of the White House is very beautiful with tall columns and the flag on the roof. It is the US president's residence. This is where the president lives and works. It is one of the most famous buildings in the world. Its name comes from the fact thet is it a white house. Tourists can't see the part where the president lives, but they can see the Red Room, the Blue Room and the Green Room and some other rooms. By the way, the city is famous for its museums. I have been to the Natural History Museum but I haven't seen the others yet.

Помогите ответить на вопросы: The camel is called "the ship of the desert", and there is good reason for it. Just as a ship is constructed

to deal with all the problems that arise from being in the water, so a camel is "constructed" to live and travel
and survive in the desert. ^

Where other animals would die from lack of food and water, the camel gets along very nicely. It carries its food and water with it. For days before it starts on a journey, a camel does nothing but eats and drinks. It eats so much that a hump of fat rises on its back. So the camel's hump is a storage place for fat, which the camel's body will use up during the journey.

The camel also has little flask - shaped bags which line the walls of its stomach. This is where it stores water. With such provisions, a camel is able to travel several days between water holes without drinking, and for an even longer time with no nourishment except what it draws from the fat of its hump.

At the end of a long journey, the hump will have lost its firm shape and will flop to one side in flabby folds. The camel will then have to rest for a long time to recover its strength. The camel is one of man's oldest servants and has been used by man in Egypt for more than 3,000 years!

1) How is the camel?
2) Why is it called so?
3) Why doesn't the camel eat so much?
4) Why does the camel store water?
5) Where does the camel store water?
6) What happens to the hump at the end of the journey?
7) When was the camel used by man?

Помогите, пожалуйста!!!Я вас очень прошу! пример: 0) In 1989, Canada joined the Organisatinion of American States.a memberSince1989, Canada has been a

member of the Organisation of American States.1)Canada is one of world's wealthiest countries with strong democratic traditions. recognized Canada___________________________________________________.

As you know the colonies in America won the Revolutionary War (the War of Independence (1775—1783). After that they became free and independent states,

but they had a problem: they needed one strong national government. That's why in the year 1787 all the states sent their representatives to Philadelphia where they wrote the Constitution. The Constitution is the highest law in the United States which describes the powers of the national government and the powers of the state governments. Ш 62. The US government is like a tree with a strong trunk and three branches. The trunk is the people. It holds up
the tree: without the support of the people there can be no government. People choose the men who make American laws.
The first branch on the tree of government is the Congress. The Congress is a meeting of representatives from all states. The people elect those representatives. The Congress makes the laws that everybody must obey. The Congress meets in the US Capitol in Washington, D. C. The Congress is divided into two parts, the Senate and the House of Representatives. Every state, no matter how large or small, sends two people to the Senate. These people are called senators. There are one hundred senators in the Senate. A senator's term is six years. Each state also sends

people to the House of Representatives. They are called congressmen or congresswomen. The number of congressmen from each state depends on the number of people who live in the state. The larger states have more congressmen than the smaller states. All in all there are 435 congressmen in the House of Representatives. A representative's term is two years. The Constitution gives many powers to the Congress. One important power of the Congress is the power to declare war.

Name the sights of London (8 points). 1) There are four of them on this Tower. Their faces are 221\2 feet in diameter, the small hands are 9 feet long and

the large hands are 14 feet. The bell weighs 131\2 tons and the hammer which strikes it weighs 8 tons. The Tower itself is 318 feet high and you have to go up 374 steps to reach the top. Name the Tower or, at least, the bell. 2) This building is the City's greatest monument and Sir Christopher Wren’s masterpiece. It was built in 1675-1708 and was the fifth church put on the same site. 3) It was built in the 18th century and rebuilt later by the architect John Nash. The first Queen to live there was the young Queen Victoria. Above the State Entrance is the central balcony where the Royal Family appears on occasions of national importance. The Royal Standard flying over the building is the sign that the Queen is in the residence. 4) There is another famous picture gallery in London (besides the National Gallery). It is named after its founder – a sugar manufacturer. The Gallery has rich collections of pictures by 16th century English artists as well as paintings by foreign painters of the 19- 20th centuries (impressionists and post impressionists). It also has a large sculpture collection. 5) This Concert Hall is a circular brick building under a glass-and-metal roof. The Hall was built in 1867-1871. It is a big concert hall, seating 8,000. It is used for concerts, athletic events, for public gathering and other functions. 6) This Shop was built in 1567. It was described by Charles Dickens in his novel of the same title. The shop still sells curios. 7) This area is in the centre of the west End of London. It was named in commemoration of the victorious naval battle of 1805, in which a famous English admiral was fatally wounded. 8) This building long continued to be both a fortress and a palace. It was also a prison. Now it is simply Britain’s most famous and most visited historic building. According to tradition it is guarded by the Yeoman Warders. Task 6. Look at the photos below. What holiday are Englishmen celebrating? What do you know about this holiday (history, date of celebration, how they celebrate it etc. Not more than 15 sentences, 15 points)? Task 7. Prepare a travel itinerary for your future vacation in Britain. It must be on a separate sheet of paper (not more than A4), colourful, interesting, unordinary. Mark on it the cities and places that you found very interesting and really want to visit. Tell us why you chose these cities, what attractions you will see there, what cultural events took place there, etc (30 points). Task 8. Now we are waiting for your own task about the USA. If it is interesting and unusual we will use it in our next contest “Stars and Stripes”. Don’t also forget about your opinion (5 points).
