Почему перед weather стоит определенный артикль the, ведь по правилу с weather употребляется нулевой артикль.

Погода неисчисляемая, поэтому либо the weather, либо без артикля вообще. Зависит от контекста. Допустим: I like cold weather (я люблю холодную погоду. я в общем люблю, мне нравится просто холодная погода) или The cold weather made us stay at home (холодная погода заставила остаться нас дома. не погода вообще, а именно ТА погода в именно ТОТ день)
